WANT TO SING IN THE PURBECK ARTS CHOIR

We are a friendly group of non-auditioned singers who would love to welcome new members in all voice parts with an especially warm welcome extended to tenors and basses!

We enjoy singing a varied repertoire and in the last 12 months we have:

• Hosted a community performance of “Ahoy! Sing for the Mary Rose” by Alexander L’Estrange for Purbeck Art Weeks

• Sung the UK premiere of Helen Ostafew’s “Requiem for Humanity”

• Taken part in a Choral Anthems Workshop with the Dorset Guild of Singers

• Welcomed the Purbeck Youth Choir to sing the “Chichester Psalms” and the “Manchester Carols” at our Christmas Concert

We meet on Thursdays at 7.30pm at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Northbrook Rd, Swanage, BH19 1QE. Do come along and if you would like to know more, please ring our conductor Jay Buckle on 01929 425865.

DORSET GUILD OF SINGERS CONCERT – 28 APRIL 2018, LIGHTHOUSE, POOLE

On Saturday 28 April we were joined by the Orlando Singers and choirs from Wareham, Briantspuddle and Broadstone to sing Elgar’s “Dream of Gerontius” at the Lighthouse, Poole. It was a wonderful performance with an excellent professional orchestra and soloists Joshua Ellicott and Joyce Tindsley, with Simon Lole conducting. It was a very moving and memorable experience with over 200 singers and a 60 piece orchestra on the stage in the Wessex Hall at the Lighthouse, Poole.
